I worked for one year at the Lientin (North China) Public School for children under the guidance of Mr. Kirkhope.
During that year, I engaged in visual form work, though not of an advanced grade. I also took drill with children who were of all nationalities and ages ranging from 10 to 16, both boys and girls.
I have since been in Peking, where I found it quite necessary to establish a school owing to the troubled and necessitated state of the country. My children were from 8 to 14 years old.
I have had a school of my own, teaching French, Russian, American, and British children, and have covered the usual subjects with the exception of Latin.
I am 36 years of age, strong, and energetic, with a fondness for hard outdoor life.
Would you consider this application at all? I can send a copy of a letter from Mr. Beale, a farmer who will be pleased to answer your inquiries, and a letter from Miss John, the head mistress.
